Abstract
This article highlights the need for the systematic study of legal writing in Romania through an analysis that begins with the definition and classification of this discipline, continues with its evolution at the global level, and then presents the development of the study and teaching of legal writing both in the international context and in Romania. As part of an initial effort to systematize legal writing in Romania, the article also presents the fundamental principles of legal writing that every practitioner or law student should master. The main sections of the article outline the conceptual framework necessary for future systematic and coherent approaches to legal writing in Romania.
